About this site
Ponton Port Winston refers to the remains of the Mulberry Harbour built off Arromanches-les-Bains on the Calvados coast of Normandy, part of the artificial harbour towed across the Channel and assembled following the D-Day landings in June 1944. Sections of the concrete caissons and pontoons still sit in the shallow waters and on the beach at Arromanches, visible at low tide and as submerged structure just offshore.
