Port Aransas and South Padre Jetties

Port Aransas and South Padre Jetties refer to the rock jetty formations along the Texas Gulf Coast, near the entrances to Aransas Pass and the Brazos Santiago Pass by South Padre Island. These jetties are stretches of granite boulders extending into the Gulf of Mexico, built to stabilize the channel inlets used by shipping traffic. Both areas sit along the barrier island coastline of South Texas, well south of Corpus Christi.
