About this site
Princesa Vallarta Shipwreck is a wreck in Banderas Bay, lying less than 200 metres from Playas Las Gemelas. The former snorkelling boat has rested there since 2016 alongside another 10 or 11 ships in the same area, which reaches a maximum depth of about 38 metres (125 feet).
Close to the bottom at around 17 metres (55 feet) divers pass a mid-sized sailboat, then a second sailboat lying upside down, before the wreck appears with its top at 21 metres (70 feet) and its base at 27 metres (90 feet). Sea turtles live there and big groupers visit. Currents are usually not strong. Summer is the best season, as winter brings low visibility.
