About this site
Proti lies off the Lavreotiki peninsula in southeast Attica, the stretch of Greek coastline south of Athens known for its old silver mining district around Lavrio. The site sits in the waters between the mainland and the islands off Cape Sounio, an area typically accessed by small boat from the coastal towns nearby. The bottom here is reef, and divers exploring it have found nudibranchs among the rock and reef structure.
