Pulau Pramuka is the main inhabited island of the Kepulauan Seribu (Thousand Islands) chain, located in the Java Sea north of Jakarta, where it serves as the administrative center for the Thousand Islands regency. The island functions as a base for boat trips to surrounding reefs and smaller islets scattered across this archipelago. Diving around Pramuka reaches a maximum depth of about 18 metres and is rated a beginner site, making it accessible to those staying on the island between excursions to nearby reef patches.
