Punta Argentina sits along the Guanacaste coast of northwestern Costa Rica, an area of rocky points and volcanic headlands facing the Pacific. Dive sites in this region are typically reached by boat from towns near the Golfo de Papagayo or Playas del Coco. The site has a rocky bottom and reaches a maximum depth of about 27.4 metres, rated as an intermediate dive. Divers have reported strong currents here, along with sightings of frogfish, moray eels, reef sharks, sea turtles, seahorses, and stingrays.
