About this site
Pygmy Caves lies along the coast of Grand Bahama Island in the Bahamas, an island shaped by the limestone karst common to the Bahamian archipelago. Dive sites here are typically reached by boat out of Freeport or nearby settlements, taking advantage of the honeycombed limestone formations riddling the coastline. This site reaches a maximum depth of about 24.4 metres and is rated an intermediate dive. Divers have reported eagle rays, grouper, snapper, and even whale sharks passing through the area, though sightings of the latter would be an unusual bonus rather than a given.
