About this site
The R. H. Rae is a wreck resting off Main Duck Island in eastern Lake Ontario, an island reached mainly by boat from ports along the Prince Edward County shoreline. The area sits near the entrance to the Bay of Quinte within the St. Lawrence Islands region shared with New York State waters, and its surrounding waters hold scattered schooner wrecks from Great Lakes shipping traffic of the 1800s. The site reaches a maximum depth of around 32 metres and is rated an advanced dive.
