Rainbow's End (also listed as Rainbow's End I and Rainbow's End II) is a sloping reef dive in the Somosomo Strait, Fiji. Rainbow's End II is a continuation of the same reef as Rainbow's End I, with the start point determined by current speed and direction. The site sits within a stretch of popular dive sites along the strait and is dived as a drift, with the sloping reef kept to the right shoulder as divers move gently with the current.
The reef slopes between 8 and 24 metres, with the sea floor typically visible from the dive boat at the surface. The slope is decorated with table corals and other varieties of Acropora, boulder corals and porites — the latter often hosting boring clams and Christmas-tree worms — alongside a variety of soft corals in various colours.
Marine life here tends to run to numerous individuals rather than large schools. Divers can expect parrotfish, red-breasted wrasses, emperor and blue-girdled angelfish, Napoleon wrasse, longnose butterflyfish and Moorish idols. Red-tooth (vampire) triggerfish are common, as are blue-streak and blue-and-yellow fusiliers. The sandy areas are worth checking for blue ribbon eels and gobies tending their shrimp partners.
As with all dives in the Somosomo Strait, current direction and strength dictate the dive plan; conditions are typically strong, so the drift is planned accordingly. Maximum depth reaches 23 metres and the site is considered advanced level.
