About this site
Rainbow River flows through Dunnellon in Marion County, Florida, fed by Rainbow Springs, one of the largest artesian spring systems in the state. It runs a short distance before joining the Withlacoochee River, and is popular with snorkelers, kayakers, and tubers along its clear spring-fed course. The site reaches a maximum depth of around 30 metres and is rated a beginner dive, with visibility generally described as great. Divers have also reported a dugong here, though that sighting is far from typical for a Florida spring run.
