The Relitto Toikosan Maru lies off Catania on Sicily's Ionian coast, in waters shaped by the port traffic that has long passed through the strait between Sicily and mainland Italy, below the slopes of Mount Etna. The wreck sits at a maximum depth of around 40 metres and is rated an intermediate dive. Its position off this stretch of coastline places it among the shipping losses associated with the busy waters around Catania's harbor approaches.
