About this site
Roche Mondon lies within the La Digue and Inner Islands group of the Seychelles, in the western Indian Ocean. The granite outcrops typical of this part of the Seychelles bank make for boat dives launched from the surrounding islands. Divers here have also reported crustaceans and shellfish along the rock, including brown land crabs, purple and strawberry hermit crabs, tawny hermit crabs, thin-shelled rock crabs, and small giant clams tucked among the granite.
