About this site
The Romelia is a wreck site off the Cape Peninsula near Cape Town, in an area exposed to Atlantic swell and the cold water typical of Cape diving. The site reaches a maximum depth of around 24 metres. Divers here have reported broadnose sevengill sharks along with albacore, skipjack tuna, yellowfin tuna, and yellowtail kingfish passing through. Boats out of Hout Bay or Simon's Town commonly reach the site, and conditions along this stretch of coast tend to reflect the open swell that hits this side of the Cape.
