Satil Wreck

The Satil is a former Israeli missile boat scuttled off the coast of Eilat, in the Red Sea near Israel's southern tip. It sits on a sandy slope not far from the Japanese Gardens dive area, split into sections after being sunk deliberately as an artificial reef in the mid 1980s. The wreck reaches a maximum depth of around 25 metres and is rated an intermediate dive, with the shallower sections making up the easier part of the site. Soft coral growth and reef fish have colonized the hull over the decades, and it is commonly dived alongside the nearby Japanese Gardens reef as part of the same outing from Eilat's shore diving sites.
