Sea Tiger Shipwreck

The Sea Tiger is a former Chinese cargo vessel that was seized for smuggling and later sunk as an artificial reef off the south shore of Oahu, near Waikiki, in the late 1990s. The wreck sits off the coast with a max depth of around 37.5 metres and is rated an advanced dive, with limited bottom time at depth cited as a hazard along with the deep diving itself. Its upper structure and interior swim-throughs have become encrusted with coral and sponge growth over the years, and divers exploring the wreck have reported eagle rays, tiger sharks, and even whales passing by. Boats typically run out from Honolulu or Waikiki to reach it, and given the depth and wreck penetration involved, it suits divers with more experience rather than those new to the sport.
