About this site
Secret of Iraraley takes its name from Iraraley, one of the traditional Tao villages on the northern shore of Orchid Island (Lanyu), off Taiwan's southeastern Pacific coast. The island's waters are volcanic in origin, with the seabed dropping quickly into deep open ocean just off the coastline. Divers here have reported Hawaiian convict surgeonfish, Moorish idols, and tomato clownfish among the reef fish, along with mottled lightfoot crabs and both purple and tawny hermit crabs working the rocky substrate.
