About this site
Shark Alley lies off the southern coast of South Africa near Gansbaai, in the channel between Dyer Island and Geyser Rock. The site has a maximum depth of only about 1 metre, making it a beginner-level dive, and it is best known for great white sharks that patrol the area, drawn in part by the Cape fur seal colony on Geyser Rock. Divers have also reported mola mola and whales passing through the channel.
