Sharkfin Rock lies off the coast of Lanai in the Hawaiian Islands, in the channel waters of the Auau Channel between Lanai and Maui, with sites in this area typically reached by boat from Lahaina or Maalaea Harbor on Maui. It reaches a maximum depth of around 36.6 metres. The rock and surrounding reef hold cauliflower and hump coral along with reef fish such as arc-eye hawkfish, blackfin chromis, dusky and goldring surgeonfish, saddle wrasse, Pacific orange-spine unicornfish, and yellow tang. Divers have also reported hammerhead sharks passing through the site.
