About this site
Shaw's Cove is a small beach and reef dive site in Laguna Beach, on the Orange County coast of Southern California. It is a shore-entry spot within the Laguna Beach marine protected area, accessed via steps down from a bluff-top park. The site tops out at around 9.1 metres, is rated a beginner dive, and typically has good visibility over a reef bottom. Divers have reported leopard sharks, nudibranchs, and octopus here. Local rules are enforced closely, with divers noting that approaching sea lions is illegal and that lifeguards can ticket divers for diving without a flag, snorkeling in dive-only areas, or diving solo.
