About this site
This artificial reef sits in 90 feet of water off Florida's Gulf Coast. The 100-foot Sheridan Tug sank in 1985, now encrusted with colorful sponges and corals. Schools of grunts and snapper swirl around the intact wheelhouse, while goliath grouper often patrol the wreck. Strong currents sometimes sweep the site, bringing pelagic visitors. The shallowest point reaches 60 feet, making it accessible for advanced divers. Visibility averages 40 feet on calm days.
