About this site
SMS Karlsruhe lies in Scapa Flow, off the northern coast of Scotland in the United Kingdom, one of several German warships scuttled there in 1919 after the fleet was interned following the First World War. The site reaches a maximum depth of around 20 metres and is considered an intermediate dive. Scapa Flow's scuttled fleet remains a well known draw for wreck divers, with the surrounding waters holding several of the sister vessels of the same scuttled squadron.
