About this site
The SMS Szent István was an Austro-Hungarian dreadnought sunk in June 1918 by Italian torpedo boats off the island of Premuda in the northern Adriatic. It rolled over as it went down, and the wreck now lies capsized on the seabed off the Croatian coast, resting at a maximum depth of around 67 metres. The dive is rated technical, reflecting both that depth and the demands of navigating an inverted battleship hull. The site draws interest largely for its history as one of the last major capital ship losses of the First World War.
