About this site
West Caicos sits along the western edge of the Turks and Caicos bank, facing the Caicos Passage where the shelf drops into deep water. Southwest Reef refers to reef terrain along the southwest side of this uninhabited island, an area known generally for wall diving as the shallow bank gives way to steep drop-offs. Boats out to this side of West Caicos typically run from Providenciales, crossing open water to reach the island. Divers have also reported eagle rays passing along this stretch of reef.
