The SS Rose Castle lies in Bell Island's Conception Bay area of Newfoundland, Canada, a region marked by the German U-boat attacks of World War Two that sank several ore carriers anchored there. The wreck reaches a maximum depth of around 20 metres and is generally considered an intermediate dive.
