About this site
Sunrise Beach is a shore access point on Horsetooth Reservoir, a long reservoir west of Fort Collins, Colorado, in the foothills below the Front Range. The reservoir was formed by a series of dams built in the mid-20th century as part of the Colorado-Big Thompson water project, and it draws local divers largely for training and practice dives given its inland, freshwater setting. At Sunrise Beach the site reaches a maximum depth of around 6.1 metres and is rated an intermediate dive.
