About this site
Swanage Pier sits in Swanage Bay on the Dorset coast of southern England, within the wider Wessex region. The Victorian pier extends into the bay from the seafront town of Swanage, near the entrance to Poole Harbour and the Isle of Purbeck, and is a popular shore dive around the pier's pilings. It reaches a maximum depth of around 13 metres and is rated a beginner site. Divers have reported cuttlefish, lobster, nudibranchs, and pipefish among the pier legs and encrusted structure.
