About this site
The Dragon lies within the waters off Portofino, on the promontory that separates the Gulf of Tigullio from the Gulf of Genoa in Liguria's Metropolitan City of Genoa. This stretch of coast falls within the Portofino Marine Protected Area, known for its rocky headlands dropping steeply into the sea. The site reaches a maximum depth of around 40 metres, though it is rated a beginner dive, suggesting most of the interest lies in its shallower reef structure rather than the deeper reaches. As with the surrounding marine park, expect a rocky bottom typical of this part of the Ligurian coast.
