The M2 Submarine

The M2 is a British Royal Navy submarine that sank in Lyme Bay off the Dorset coast of England in 1932, after water reportedly flooded the hangar built into her hull to house a small seaplane, an unusual feature for a submarine of that era. She rests upright and largely intact on the seabed at a maximum depth of around 28 metres, and is rated a beginner dive. Divers visiting her are drawn partly by the history and partly by the marine growth that has colonised the hull over the decades. Some divers have also reported surge at the site.
