The Odyssey

The Odyssey is a sunken freighter off the coast of Roatan in Honduras's Bay Islands, deliberately scuttled to create an artificial reef for divers. The ship sits on a sandy bottom off the island's north shore, with its structure now colonized by sponges and small reef fish typical of the area. Depths at the wreck run deep, with the deck starting well down and the sand bottom lying deeper still, putting much of the site in the range better suited to divers comfortable beyond recreational limits. Roatan's north shore sites are typically reached by short boat rides from dive operators based around West Bay and West End.
