About this site
The Pond is a reef dive site off the County Wicklow coast on Ireland's east coast, within the Leinster province. It reaches a maximum depth of around 15 metres and is rated an intermediate dive, with strong current a defining feature of the site. Divers have also reported a cave diving element here, along with a funnel effect that builds on the ebb tide as water is pushed through the terrain. That tidal funnelling is worth planning around, since it can intensify the current considerably at certain stages of the tide.
