Great Blasket Island lies off the tip of the Dingle Peninsula in County Kerry, at the western edge of Munster and mainland Ireland. The waters around the island are exposed to the Atlantic and known for rugged coastline and strong swells, with the island itself now uninhabited and reachable only by boat from the Dingle Peninsula mainland.
