About this site
The Wash is a large shallow bay on the east coast of England, where the coastlines of Lincolnshire and Norfolk meet at the outflow of rivers including the Witham and the Great Ouse. It is a broad estuarine inlet of the North Sea, bordered by low fenland and extensive tidal flats. Lyndsey lies inland of this stretch of Lincolnshire coast.
