About this site
Tidore W lies off the western side of Tidore, a small volcanic island in the Maluku Islands just west of Halmahera, within the wider Halmahera Sea and the Coral Triangle region of eastern Indonesia. The island is historically known as one of the original clove-producing sultanates of the area, and sites along its west coast are typically reached by boat from Tidore's coastal settlements. Divers here have reported barracuda, fusiliers, and Napoleon wrasse moving over the reef.
