The D/S Tinn is a steamship wreck lying in Lake Tinnsjøen in Norway. She sank in 1915 off Sigurdsrud in Atrå and today rests on the bottom as a historical monument. The lake is one of the deepest in Europe at 460 metres, and its cold fresh water preserves the wreck well.
For technical divers this is the most spectacular target in the lake. Divers who have visited report seeing the ship's details still preserved in the dark depths, and the site is rated technical. The water is crystal clear and visibility is often excellent.
This is diving for the advanced. Lake Tinnsjøen demands experience with cold water and good buoyancy control, and you should always dive with a buddy and follow full safety procedures. The wider lake also has steep rock walls and dramatic formations along the shore, so there is plenty to see if you are not heading for the wreck.
