Tobias Point (Tobi) is a surfacing rock sitting north of Saleh Besar in the Halmahera region of Indonesia. An underwater ridge extends along its eastern side, running into deeper water and generating strong fish activity along the rocky bottom terrain.
The reef at Tobias Point is described as untouched, with the shallower sections hosting dense aggregations of anthias and, in one account, boulders colonised by Acropora and colourful dendronepthya growth. The site draws blacktip sharks, grey reef sharks, and blacktip reef sharks in numbers, with sharks present throughout the site.
Tobias Point is reached by liveaboard and dived as part of multi-day itineraries through the area. The broader region is subject to strong oceanic currents flowing through the straits, and dive planning here requires flexibility and careful timing; the cruise format accommodates divers of varying experience levels by mixing exposed current dives with calmer alternatives.
