Tortuga lies along the southern coast of the Dominican Republic, over a reef reaching a maximum depth of around 15 metres. It is rated a beginner site, making it accessible to divers with limited experience. Divers here have reported batfish, bull sharks, eagle rays, jacks and amberjack, moray eels, nurse sharks, and sea turtles moving through the area.
