Trix Caves lies in North Male Atoll, part of Kaafu Atoll in the central Maldives, an area of coral reef channels and thilas widely used by dive operators based out of Male and nearby resort islands. The atoll's outer reef edges here are shaped by swim-throughs and overhangs typical of this stretch of the Maldivian archipelago.
