About this site
Trou D'Eau Douce Bay sits off the coastal village of the same name on the east coast of Mauritius, in the Flacq district, facing the lagoon that opens toward Ile aux Cerfs. The bay lies within the sheltered reef system typical of this stretch of coastline. Divers here have reported button stars, collector urchins, and geometric morays among the reef life, along with indo-Pacific rock-boring urchins, speckled and spotfin squirrelfish, tawny hermit crabs, and thin-shelled rock crabs.
