Tubbataha

Tubbataha Reef is located in the Sulu Sea, part of the Coral Triangle in the province of Palawan, Philippines, and is protected as a UNESCO World Heritage site within the Tubbataha Reefs Natural Park. It consists of two large atolls, North and South, rising from deep water and known for steep walls, sharks, turtles, and large numbers of reef fish, along with pelagic sightings such as manta rays. Diving here is seasonal, typically accessible only from mid-March through June when conditions allow safe crossing, and it is reached almost exclusively by liveaboard out of Puerto Princesa. Currents around the walls can be strong, and the remoteness of the site means it generally suits divers with some open water experience.
