About this site
Túnel de Garachico lies off the town of Garachico on the northwest coast of Tenerife in Spain's Canary Islands, an area shaped by volcanic rock formations and lava flows along the shoreline. The site reaches a maximum depth of around 42 metres and is rated an advanced dive, with the volcanic tunnel structure itself part of what makes the depth and layout demanding. Divers here have reported Canary damsel, East Atlantic redlip blenny, Sally Lightfoot crabs, European parrotfish, Macaronesian toby, and ornate wrasse moving among the rock.
