About this site
Turtle Reef sits off Lemus on New Ireland Island, part of Papua New Guinea's Melanesian island chain in the Bismarck Sea region. The reef reaches a maximum depth of around 40 metres and is typically reached by small boat from nearby coastal settlements. Divers here have reported bumphead parrotfish, mackerel, and snapper moving over the reef.
