About this site
Vieille lies in the waters off Cassis, a small coastal town in the Var department on the French Riviera, near the limestone calanques between Marseille and La Ciotat. This stretch of Mediterranean coastline is known for its steep, pale cliffs dropping into the sea and its rocky, calanque-carved shoreline. The site reaches a maximum depth of around 15 metres, making it a shallow dive well suited to exploring the rocky terrain typical of this coast. Dive sites in this area are typically reached by boat from the port of Cassis.
