About this site
Vinkeveense Plas is a lake area in the Vinkeveen region, formed from historic peat extraction that left a network of interconnected lakes in this part of the Netherlands, near the border of Utrecht and Zuid-Holland. These flooded peat diggings are a common feature of the low-lying Dutch landscape south of Amsterdam. As a dive site it reaches a maximum depth of around 30 metres and is considered suitable for beginners.
