About this site
Whytecliff Park sits at the tip of a small peninsula in West Vancouver, British Columbia, where Howe Sound meets the Strait of Georgia. It is a well known shore diving spot in the region, easily accessed from a parking area above the beach, and was designated as Canada's first Marine Protected Area. Divers here typically enter from the rocky shoreline near Whyte Islet, working around the underwater terrain that drops off into the cold, current-influenced waters of the Sound. The site draws cold water divers year round given its accessibility and protected status, though conditions in Howe Sound can include reduced visibility and tidal current, so many divers plan entries around slack tide.
