Wilkes Passage

Tavarua sits off the western coast of Viti Levu, Fiji, near the town of Nadi, better known for its surf breaks than as a dive destination in its own right. Wilkes Passage refers to the channel near Wilkes Reef along the barrier reef fringing this stretch of the Mamanuca Islands, and the dive site here follows a wall with great visibility. It is rated a beginner dive, and boat access from Nadi or nearby resorts is typical for sites in this area. Divers have reported angelfish, barracuda, butterflyfish, eagle rays, parrotfish, and trevally along the wall.
