About this site
Wraysbury Lake is a flooded gravel pit near Staines in Surrey, just west of London and close to the Thames, and it has long served as an inland dive training site for divers in the region. Local clubs and schools have used it for decades for open water courses and try-dives, with platforms and sunken objects placed in the water for training purposes. The lake reaches a maximum depth of around 18 metres and is rated a beginner site, making it accessible for newer divers as well as those practising skills. It is valued more for training and practice than for any wreck exploration or notable marine life.
