Yelapa is a small coastal village on Banderas Bay, south of Puerto Vallarta on the Pacific coast of Jalisco, Mexico, reachable mainly by boat rather than road. The shoreline sits at the mouth of a river canyon backed by jungle-covered hills typical of this stretch of the bay. Divers here have reported olive ridley sea turtles in the surrounding waters.
