About this site
4 Mile Reef is a reef that stretches perpendicular to the shoreline, with a large wall, sand patches, canyons, gullies and bommies. Depths run from 16 to 20 metres.
Schooling snappers, slingers and fusiliers fill the water, and bluefin kingfish hunt along the reef. Large, delicate plate coral covers the reef, so buoyancy control matters here. Tiny orangutan crabs can also be found.
