Abu Dabbab 1 (Shaab Abu Dabbab 1) is a coral reef dive site located approximately 30 km north of Marsa Alam, Egypt, reached by speedboat. The reef is surrounded by a large coral garden on a sandy bottom, with a few scattered pinnacles and a cave also within the site. Depths range from 3 m down to 18 m, and a shallow canyon cuts into the reef, offering a variety of different dive profiles across this spacious site. The site is also well suited to macro diving.
Marine life at Abu Dabbab 1 includes an abundance of reef fish such as butterflyfish, goatfish, glassfish, and scorpionfish, alongside larger species including turtles, barracuda, and whitetip sharks.
The site is accessible to all levels of certified divers, rated easy to medium in difficulty. Current is generally low to medium, making it manageable for less experienced divers. Entry and exit are by speedboat.
