Abu Telha is a shore dive in Dahab, Sinai, less often dived than most of the town's sites because of its entry. The entry goes straight to a coral garden that slopes gradually down to 30 metres. You loop south and shallow up on the way back to the exit, and the best corals lie at 5 to 20 metres.
The entrance is through a small lagoon, and the dive is only possible at high tide, with slack water or no surf. It can be dived left, even as a drift towards Abu Helal, or right. Entry can be slippery and the reef has many holes of different depths.
The site is famous for large schools of red-toothed triggerfish, and it is the only shore site where juvenile red-tooth triggerfish are found, sometimes in great numbers. A deep canyon here is for technically trained divers only, and the Little Canyon at 40 metres has chambers dropping to 105 metres for trimix divers.
